Officer injured in ATV collision

Shortly after midnight on July 1, officers from the Ear Falls OPP stopped an ATV on Ash Street in Ear Falls after it was spotted driving without headlights.
During the ensuing events, the ATV collided with a door of the police vehicle and also struck an officer standing outside it.
The officer received injuries to his face as a result of the incident. He was treated and has since been released from hospital.
The driver of the ATV, a 26-year-old Ear Falls woman, was arrested and charged with a number of offences, including impaired driving, impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and driving with no licence.
She was released from custody and will appear in court in Red Lake on Aug. 24.
