A ’50s and ’60s rock ’n roll dance, also featuring an Elvis contest and ’50s costumes, will be held Friday, Sept. 15 from 7-11 p.m. at the Emo Legion. This is a fundraiser for the Emo Public Library and the W.I. Museum.
Tickets are available at the EPL and W.I. Museum at a cost of $7 each or $20 per family.

Peggy Rahn of Nanaimo, B.C. is visting her mother, Margaret Rahn, of Blackhawk and sister, Lynndawn, of Fort Frances.
This past weekend, Margaret and Peggy attended the wedding of Tekla and Dan Derkson in Balmertown.
While there, Leonard and Sheila Derkson hosted a family gathering at thier home on Sunday, with relatives coming from Fort Frances, Marathon, and Winnipeg.

Fifteen people attend the Stratton seniors’ 500 card games on Monday (Aug. 28). John Vanderbrand had the high score, with Doreen Kiesel second and Adelia Guba third.
Clark Neilson had the low score.

A potluck lunch will be held Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Stratton seniors’ cente, with Glen Hart and Ramona providing music to dance to.

Osta Westberg, a recent resident of Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances, has had the misfortune of breaking her hip. We all wish her a speedy recovery.
