On Monday around 1 p.m., Dryden OPP received information that a plane had crashed near Teggau Lake, southwest of Vermilion Bay.
Michael Bernier, 45, of Vermilion Bay sustained minor injuries when his plane—a Piper PA12—crashed into the bush a couple of hundred feet off shore.
No other occupants were on board.
A Hercules helicopter from Search and Rescue parachuted two medics in to assist Bernier.
Shortly thereafter, an MNR helicopter located Bernier and transported him and the two medics to the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Bernier later was released with minor injuries.
The OPP Regional ERT also assisted Dryden OPP officers.
The Transport Safety Branch of Nav Canada is conducting the investigation.
