NDP MP to speak at supper

The Kenora-Rainy River NDP is planning a spaghetti supper and auction next Friday (Nov. 5) at 7 p.m. at the Ukrainian Hall here.
The evening also will feature Winnipeg Centre MP Pat Martin as the guest speaker.
Martin was first elected to the House of Commons in 1997, and was re-elected in both 2000 and 2004.
He currently is the NDP critic for Citizenship and Immigration, Aboriginal Affairs, Northern Development and Natural Resources, and Government Operations and Estimates.
He also is leading a campaign to ban trans fatty acids from Canada’s food supply, and was opposed to the First Nations Governance Act.
Representing one of the poorest ridings in Canada, Martin advocates for adequate funding for health care, housing, and education.
Tickets for the spaghetti supper are available by calling 274-5013. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Everyone is welcome.
