Every candidate who filed to run for trustee in the Rainy River District School Board has been acclaimed.
For the town of Rainy River, there were no candidates and the position is still vacant.
The school board could still extend the nomination period for its Rainy River trustee, but whether it puts out another call for nominations or appoints someone to the role has yet to be determined, according to the school board.
The Rainy River trustee would also represent residents in Morley, Lake of the Woods and Dawson.
In Fort Frances, Heather Latter and Mike Walchuk put their names forth, and both have been acclaimed to the two positions.
Kristi Langer has been acclaimed as Atikokan’s trustee.
For La Vallee and Alberton, the single shared position has been filled by Kathryn Pierroz.
The trustee that will represent Emo, Chapple and Nestor Falls is Barbara Kyro.
The municipality of Sioux Narrows–Nestor Falls is split between two English public school districts, with Nestor Falls belonging to the Rainy River District School Board and Sioux Narrows belonging to the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
