Shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, members of the Rainy River District detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the Rainy River Port of Entry by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
Officers at the Port of Entry believed an impaired driver was attempting to enter Canada.
An officer attended and conducted an investigation. As a result of the evidence gathered during the investigation, a 32-year-old Morson woman has been charged criminally with:
- One count of impaired operation of a conveyance by drugs or alcohol; and
- One count of impaired operation of a conveyance – 80 or more mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
She will attend Rainy River Provincial Court on Jan. 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. to answer to these charges.
The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways.
