The Township of Morley’s struggle to fill the last two seats on council may be over by the end of this week.
The council’s current quorum of Reeve Gary Gamsby and Couns. Bill Romyn and George Heyens have been working to put together a full complement since their inaugural meeting during the first week of December.
A bulletin was delivered to all eligible households asking for residents to come forward and fill the remaining two seats.
“We put a bulletin in each person’s mailbox. We needed two people and now we have one for sure,” said Coun. Heyens, who wouldn’t say who that person was until it is made official.
The three also have been actively approaching individuals who they believe would be helpful on council.
“We expect to fill the other [seat] by the end of this week,” Coun. Heyens noted.
Morley’s first council meeting of the new year is slated Jan. 10.
