Two monitored fires in Red Lake District were declared “out” on Tuesday.
This leaves just one active fire in the Northwest Region—Fort Frances District Fire #17, a lightning-cause blaze on an island in the north arm of Rainy Lake.
It is expected to be called “out” in the near future.
The forest fire hazard currently is “low” across the central and northern sectors of the region, with an area of “moderate” concern in the Kenora area.
