Monthly men’s fellowship breakfast date set

The next men’s fellowship breakfast is slated for Saturday, Feb. 23 at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion.
Brian Major of Morson will be the guest speaker this month.
Come for delicious breakfast while enjoying fellowship with old and new friends. Men and boys of all ages are welcome, with the cost being $12/person.

The Emo and District Lions Club once again is holding its “Lions Share Grocery Raffle.”
Tickets, which cost $10 each, will be sold at Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo, Walmart in Fort Frances, and possibly other locations around the district. They also can be purchased from any member of the Lions Club.
First prize is $100/week for a year or, in other words, $5,200 worth of groceries. Second prize is $500 in groceries while third prize is $100 in groceries.
Proceeds will go to the Emo food bank and other Emo and District Lions Club projects. The club’s latest project is helping the municipal council in Devlin with the new playground at the ball diamond.
Help these Lions make our communities better places to live by purchasing a raffle ticket. You just might win some groceries but you also will help the Lions and our communities.
And if you would like to join the club, the Emo and District Lions always are looking for new members who want to contribute to life in our district and to those in need around the world.

The Rainy River Christian Farmers’ Association will hold its annual meeting and policy tour next Tuesday (Feb. 26) from 7-9 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo.

This year, they’re asking CFA members to weigh in on the OMAFRA’s Best Management Practices (BMP) series.
The topic to be discussed during this meeting is “Myths and Methodologies: What’s best when it comes to BMPs?”

Kids & Company presents “Bam Percussion” on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre in Fort Frances.
Tickets cost $10.50 in advance (available online at and $12 at the door, with children three and under being free.
Passports also are available for $45 each at the Fort Frances Public Library, Betty’s, and Revco Carpet.
