MNR sends more help off to B.C.

Staff

A total of 122 Ministry of Natural Resources fire personnel arrived back home Saturday into following a two week deployment in B.C., but the province continues to send more support for firefighting efforts out west.
Ontario sent an additional 43 personnel today, as the forest fire situation in British Columbia remains a concern.
And just yesterday, the MNR sent 15 personnel to B.C. The personnel were dispatched at part of a mobile values protection team.
Approximately 570 fire personnel from Ontario are assisting with the fire suppression efforts in British Columbia.
Ontario has also sent two CL415 water bombers and an array of forest fire suppression equipment to B.C.
Meanwhile, the fire hazard remains “low” across the region as a result of widespread rainfall over the weekend.
Regardless of the fire hazard, remember to keep your fire small, never leave it unattended and make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving the site.

There currently are only two fires burning in the province—one in Fort Frances District and another in Nipigon.
These fires are being monitored.
