MNR lifts area order

The Emergency Area Order (EAO) that has been in effect around Dryden fire #79 for a couple weeks was lifted Tuesday.
Under the EAO, the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) had the authority to stop the movement of people into the fire area.
Access on and use of Winnange Lake, Teggau Lake, Rogers Lake, and the west arm of Eagle Lake (beginning at the narrows between Trout hole #1 and Trout hole #2) is no longer prohibited.
Fire managers have determined that the threat to public safety caused by Dryden fire # 79 has diminished to the point that there is no further need for the area to remain under an EAO. As well public access and travel in the area will not be affected by or infringe upon forest fire suppression operations.
