Yesterday around 1:45 p.m., police began receiving a number of calls from the public indicating they hear a loud explosion and felt their house shake.
The calls were received from residents and business owners from the Nickel Lake area right through to Stanjikoming First Nation.
A police investigation revealed a mining company had blasted rock in a quarry a short distance up Highway 502.
No further blasts are planned.
