The Riverside Foundation for Health Care is excited to announce this year’s Canada Day Cash Lottery was a sell-out for the first time in its history!
The profits will be used towards the purchase a new and innovative ultrasound examination bed for La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
The draws were made on July 1 at 3 p.m. at Point Park, and were made consecutively starting with $100 up to $10,000.
The Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and, in turn, offered a bigger prize lot than ever!
The grand-prize winner of $10,000 was Robert Bliss of Mine Centre while the second prize of $2,000 went to Bruce Lindgren of Dryden.
The two prizes of $1,000 each went to Madeline Martin and Judy Williamson of Fort Frances and Cheryl Kallaste of Emo.
There were five prizes of $500 each, which were won by Sandra Airdrie of Rainy River, Geneva Veldhuisen of Emo, Penny Shumaker of Fort Frances, Larry and Doreen Buffington of Fort Frances, and Kate Gushulak and Brian Schick of Surrey, B.C.
The five prizes of $250 each were won by Cathy Perreault, Brian and Wendy Angus, Nicole Chambers, Penny Shumaker, and Marg Rousseau.
And the five prizes of $100 each went to Sylvia Johnston, Pat and Ken Cupp, Keven Kennedy, Marilyn Allan, and Robert and Melody Hartnell.
The Foundation would like to congratulate the winners, as well as thank everyone who purchased a ticket this year.
The Canada Day Cash Lottery continues to be such a success because of the supportive district we live in!
The Foundation is so thankful to all of the local businesses who help sell tickets and for all of the volunteers who help make this raffle a success.
A very special thank you goes out to Manitou Weather Station Fishing Lodge for its generous donation of our early-bird prize.
That draw was made at Flint House on May 18 to kick off the Victoria Day long weekend.
Dede McCool won an all-inclusive fishing trip to the beautiful Manitou Weather Station Fishing Lodge.
This trip for two includes two days and three nights of fishing, guide services, meals, and accommodations valued at more than $2,200!
