Mike Hammond is seeking re-election as reeve in the Township of Alberton.
He is retired and lives with his wife, Rowena, who also is retired. They have a son, James, who is working in the oil patch, and a daughter, Michelle, who is the wife of a RCMP officer.
Hammond has served three years as councillor and three years as reeve. He wants to maintain Alberton as a rural community and to encourage the building of private dwellings within the guidelines of the township’s official plan and bylaws.
He would like to review the spending of tax dollars to see where savings can be made to lower taxes, or at least maintain a status quo.
In addition, Hammond wants to see the roadways maintained so they are safe and attractive for residents and general public to travel on.
