Mike Ford profile

Mike Ford is vying for the position of reeve in the Township of Alberton.
He is the branch manager at Peterbilt in Fort Frances, and lives with his wife, Lori, and daughters, Kiela and Karleigh.
Ford has been a councillor in Alberton for five years, with the three most recent as deputy reeve.
During his time on council, Ford has worked on the Committee of Adjustment for five years, spent four years as chair representative for the Rainy River Future Development Corp., and is co-chair of the newly-formed Alberton roads committee.
Ford has several issues he would like to work on if he’s elected reeve.
He feels using the commercial development along the Highway 11/71 corridor would increase the tax base of the community, resulting in enhanced services to ratepayers while keeping residential taxes reasonable.
He also would like to see the continuation of the municipality’s road surfacing program, which reduces the amount of money spent on summer maintenance.
Ford feels he has the capability to lead Alberton’s council on these and other projects. If elected, he will serve the community to the best of his ability, bringing forth concerns and ideas of the residents.
