The Emo and District Lions Club will be holding its annual Robbie Burns dinner on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Emo Legion.
Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by a fabulous roast beef dinner, the piping in of the haggis, and some Scottish entertainment.
Tickets cost $25 each, with proceeds going to Lions’ projects in the district.
Tickets can be purchased from Lions members and at the meat counter at Cloverleaf.
In related news, club members will be jumping in the “Polar Plunge” on New Year’s Day in Fort Frances.
This annual event, sponsored by the Fort Frances Voyageur Lions, is held to raise money for local groups, charities, and for Lions projects in the district and around the world.
Jump for your group, gather pledges, and raise money for your club, team, or church.
Pledge forms are available from the Lions or Bill Michl in Fort Frances.
Let’s make this year’s “Polar Plunge” the best ever. All you have to do is to be brave enough to jump into Rainy Lake on Jan. 1.
See you there!

Tickets still may be available for the Emo Legion’s annual $1,000 Christmas dance set for this Saturday (Dec. 17).

Their music definitely will get you up dancing.
Meanwhile, the $1,000 draw will take place at midnight—and you must be present to win!
Tickets cost $15 each, which can be purchased at the Emo Legion, Tompkins, and Emo Drugs.
A ride service also will be provided (pre-book with the Legion in advance).
