Men’s breakfast ministry set to resume

Happy New Year to everyone from the Men’s Breakfast Ministry, which meets on the third Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion.
This Saturday (Jan. 17), the guest speaker will be Rick Plett of Linden, Alta. He is with the Gospel Troubadours Prison Ministry.
On Jan. 1, 1989, the Gospel Troubadours made a commitment to prison ministry. “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:3).
With that in mind, the group visits as many prisons as it can. However, not all prisoners are inside prison walls.
There are many on the outside who are in bondage to sins of various kinds, and even many church-going people are in bondage to self. So the message is let God’s Son set you free.
And if you are free, then serve one another in love.
Their music is that of Bluegrass style, singing in prisons, churches, songfests, jamborees, picnics, or in a bar.
Plett is an outstanding singer/musician, very warm and personal, and most importantly has a passion for ministering to the down and out. You will be blessed by his presentation.
It’s amazing that Plett is willing to travel the distance to share here at Emo.
