I am self-employed in farming and logging, and live in Arbor Vitae with my wife and five children.
I feel I have been blessed and privileged in the last six years to have been your trustee and would be honoured to continue for the next four years as your trustee for Stratton and the surrounding area.
I am a third-degree Knights of Columbus member of Rainy River Council #9556. I also am a sitting member of the Rainy River Cattlemen’s Association and the Rainy River Soil and Crop Improvement Association’s board of directors.
We attend our local church in Pinewood regularly as a family. My two oldest daughters play piano and also are lectors, and my two sons are altar servers.
I am an extraordinary Eucharist minister, and my wife assists in teaching children’s liturgy. Four of my five children are still attending Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton.
In the past six years, there have been many additions and improvements to Our Lady of the Way School. It is an on-going thing as we follow through with our five-year strategic plan, which was reviewed at our September board meeting.
I am committed and willing to make tough decisions for the benefit of our school, church, and community as a whole. We faced and overcame many challenges at the Northwest Catholic District School Board; some are still on-going, such as enrolment.
I think we have the best learning environment at Our Lady of the Way second-to-none in the west end of the district. We have some modern computer labs and teleconferencing capabilities.
I would like to see enrolment levels up to where they were about 12 years ago as they grow in the system of choice that instills Gospel values and educates our students to be responsible citizens and life-long learners with a positive vision.
So, I ask for your support in the upcoming election for the next four-year term as your trustee for Stratton and surrounding area on the Northwest Catholic District School Board .
Thank you for the time it took to read this letter, and I would appreciate your vote and support on Nov. 13.
