Marathon driver nabbed

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday, Emo OPP officers stopped a vehicle on Off Lake Road.
Police had been investigating earlier reports of night hunting taking place in the area.
As a result of the vehicle stop, officers arrested a 48-year-old Marathon man with operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
The OPP also would like to remind all motorists to exercise caution when travelling on area roads and highways. Weather conditions can be variable and unpredictable, so slow down and adjust to changing road conditions.
It’s estimated that driving error causes 85 percent of collisions. Many of these are the result of driving too fast for road conditions.
Police also would like to remind the public to call 1-800-465-5032 for updates on weather conditions in the area.
