OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, with assistance from the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, located and recovered the remains of a missing Atikokan man on Thursday.
Eric Natti, 49, was reported missing to police when he failed to arrive at his place of employment on Nov. 21.
A co-ordinated search effort allowed investigators to narrow the location to where Natti likely would be located at Miller Lake.
Cold weather and ice conditions prevented officers from continuing the underwater portion of the search in November.
Members of the USRU subsequently returned to the Atikokan area and recovered Natti’s remains.
Next of kin were notified and a post-mortem examination was conducted Friday at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
