Last Friday, shortly after midnight, Rainy River OPP officers responded to a disturbance at an establishment on Atwood Avenue there.
The suspect fled on foot prior to police arriving on the scene, but not before assaulting and threatening the manager.
Then shortly after 2 a.m., police received a second complaint about the same suspect causing a disturbance in the 500 block of Little Street in Rainy River.
Police went to the scene and arrested a 40-year-old Rainy River man, who was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest, mischief under $5,000, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, uttering threats to damage or injure an animal, and assault.
He was remanded into custody and will appear in court at a later date.
