Man dies in truck crash

Dryden OPP have concluded their investigation into a fatal single-vehicle accident which occurred yesterday afternoon on Chaval Road in Sandford Township.
John Brtko, 71, of Dryden, was the sole occupant of a Chevrolet pickup truck when his vehicle entered the south ditch and struck a tree, police said.
A post-mortem examination indicated the vehicle left the road after Brtko suffered a heart attack.
In other police news, Ignace OPP charged unsuspecting motorists for possessing marijuana for the sixth time in two weeks.
The OPP K-9 unit stopped a speeding motorist around 5 p.m. yesterday in the unorganized territory outside the Township of Ignace. Police found the driver, a 30-year-old Gorham man, to have a small quantity of marijuana.
The man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and will appear in court in Ignace at a later date, police said.
