Officers from the Rainy River District detachment of the OPP were contacted Friday evening by officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at the Rainy River Port of entry.
CBSA officers had conducted a roadside sobriety test with an approved screening device.
The male driver performed poorly.
OPP officers as well as an officer from Treaty Three Police Service continued the investigation and as a result, a 38-year-old Rainy River man was charged criminally with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
He will appear in the Rainy River Provincial Court on Monday Nov. 18, 2019 to answer to this charge.
