Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Aug. 24 were called to investigate an accusation of threats involving the use of a firearm.
Members of the Rainy River District Crime unit as well as the Northwest Region (NWR) Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted an investigation including the execution of a warrant in Morley Township.
As a result of the investigation and evidence gained by the warrant, a 65-year-old man has been charged criminally with:
- one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm;
- one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He will appear in court Oct. 30, 2019 to answer to these charges.
