From the OPP
Ignace Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an Ignace man for multiple sexual offences against a person under 16 years of age that occurred in the Township of Ignace between Sept. 6, 2016 and June 30, 2017.
The 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday evening and charged with the following offences:
•Sexual Assault on a Person under 16 years of age (x2) contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code.
•Sexual Interference with a Person under 16 years of age (x2) contrary to Section 151 of the Criminal Code.
•Transmit Sexually Explicit Material to a Person under 16 years of age contrary to Section 171.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
•Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by means of Telecommunication contrary to Section 172.1(1) (b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused will appear in court in Sioux Lookout on July 7, 2017 to answer to the charges.
