Lucille MacDonald profile

Lucille MacDonald, a paramedic with Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc., is running for a position as councillor for La Vallee.
She lives with her husband, Mel, and sons, Brodie and Neil. Her oldest son, Russ, with his wife, Ashley, and son, Nolan, live in Woodyatt. Her very large extended family has lived in the La Vallee area for more than a century.
MacDonald has been a member of the cemetery committee for the past three years and has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 10 years, where she has served as secretary-treasurer, as well as several terms on the executive committee.
She currently is treasurer of her local union, where she also has served as steward and vice-president. She has volunteered for the Emo Ambulance Service and for income tax preparation at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau.
MacDonald also worked in the credit union system in Saskatchewan during the 1980s as a secretary, teller, and lending services officer. There, she became very aware of the difficulties facing farmers, viewing first-hand the decimation of family farms and the communities they supported.
She has experience working with policies, procedures, protocols, and legislation, as well as representing the interests of others.
MacDonald is concerned with fair taxation and making sure that money is not wasted. She believes in policies that support the local economy and services, as well as keeping the community informed of what is going on.
She has listened to the concerns of other members in the community regarding issues such as waste disposal, roads, day care, cemeteries, building permits, emergency services, and provincial downloading.
As their representative, MacDonald would like the opportunity to try to address these and other concerns that may arise.
She asks all eligible voters to please vote for the candidates that will best represent them.
