If you’re feeling blue because summer is over and fall is officially upon us, don’t worry, there’s a full agenda of activities taking place throughout the district starting this Saturday (Sept. 27).
So put on a sweatshirt and participate!
First off, a rummage sale will be held Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at Knox United Church in Emo.
A Hereford tour also is planned for Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. at McNabb Farms (Jack, Kathy, and Scott). Light snacks will be provided there.
Other stops will be at Len and Ross Stafford (12:45 p.m.), the Cates Farm of Carl, Alton, and Ken (2:05 p.m.), and Kim Jo Bliss (3 p.m.) A potluck supper will follow at 4 p.m. (meat provided).
Those taking part are reminded to bring your own lawn chair.
If you are interested in bringing cattle to one of the stops, please let Kim Jo know (482-2863).
Everyone is welcome. Join us for a good day of good cattle and good food!

The thrashing bee held at the McLean farm Sept. 13 was a success, attracting 75-100 people. This was a practice run for the centennial next year.
The McLean family went out of their way with everything from all types of homemade pies to a marshmallow and wiener roast. They even had their grandsons looking after the parking.
The entire McLean family was present, inlcluding one sister who travelled in from Alaska. A big thank you is in order to all the people that worked on this event.
In related news, the next centennial committee meeting is slated for tonight (Sept. 24) at 7 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to attend. A Web site is in the making for this event.

Robin’s 2¢:
A couple is having a disagreement, with the wife icomplaining that her husband never does anything around the house.
“What do you mean, I always do my share,” said the husband. “I’m not a procrastinator like you’re accusing me of.”
“Prove it,” retorted the wife. “Either take down the Christmas tree or the storm windows!”
