Logging protesters arrested

The OPP has arrested several protesters who had illegally blocked the English River Road at Separation bridge since Tuesday afternoon.
Members of the Kenora OPP and neighbouring detachments had responded to the report Tuesday that environmental protesters had blocked the road about 75 km north of Kenora.
Although local and recreational vehicles were able to pass, the protesters were not allowing logging trucks through the blockade.
Just after 9 p.m., OPP officers arrested nine protesters at the scene and released two with small children. All face charges of mischief.
The English River Road has been re-opened to all traffic, with police continuing to investigate the incident.
