the OPP
Fort Frances OPP officers have been noticing an increase in the number of unlocked vehicles throughout town.
In May, officers checked almost 190 vehicles during their patrols and found 114 were unlocked.
Incredibly, eight unattended vehicles had their keys inside.
In addition to the unlocked vehicles, officers want to remind everyone to lock up your bicycles.
One hundred percent of all stolen/found bicycles were not locked up.
In a couple of weeks, the Youth in Policing initiative will begin. Our summer students will be out on bicycle patrol and continuing to promote the message of the successful “Lock It or Lose It” program.
Stickers will be placed on insecure vehicles to remind drivers to lock their vehicles and store any valuables out of sight.
Preventing crime is everyone’s responsibility.
Let’s work together to prevent crime . . . remember to “Lock It or Lose It!”
