Local T.O.P.S. club members honoured

The Barwick T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) weight loss support group met at the Barwick Community Church on March 26 to install the new slate of officers and to recognize the achievements for 2011.
The newly-elected officers included Laurie Anderson (weight recorder) Maxine Irvine (assistant weight recorder), Cynthia Bolen (secretary), Tami Burnell (co-leader and treasurer), and Lori Cress (leader).
Outgoing officers Florabelle Both (weight recorder) and Patti Brown (secretary) were recognized for their contributions.
Certificates also were presented to Kathy Derksen and Sandy Berg for achieving their goal weights and achieving K.O.P.S. (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) status.
Certificates of Merit were presented to Irvine and Derksen for the best weight loss in their divisions while Brown was recognized for her second-place standing.
As well, Derksen was crowned queen of the chapter and presented with a bouquet of flowers.
The Barwick T.O.P.S. chapter meets Mondays at the Barwick Community Church.
Weigh-in is at 6:45 p.m., with the meeting starting at 7 p.m.
