A team of four local curlers has advanced to the senior women’s provincial playdowns in Blind River at the end of February.
Judy LaBelle and her rink of Nancy Evans, Mary-Beth Tkachuk, and Trudy Badiuk finished in a tie for first place at 3-2 at the inter-regional playdowns in Fort Frances last week.

Brad and Sue Herman were the lucky winners of a trip to Las Vegas.
The draw, held Saturday night, was a fundraiser for the Friends of the Emo/La Vallee Community Centre.
Brad’s mom and sister, Betty Herman and Diane McCoy, also will be enjoying a holiday in Vegas next month.

Winners of last Wednesday’s cribbage games at the Emo Legion were Jean Steele and Gayle Thompson, with the low going to Rudy Meyers and Joan Buttazoni/
Joan also won the draw prize.
