The Fort Frances Lions Club will mark its 40th anniversary on Saturday, with the keynote speaker to be Past International Director Ross L. Thorfinsson Jr.
Thorfinsson, a financial planner and business consultant from Eden Prairie, Mn., was elected for a two-year term as International Director at Indianapolis in July, 2001.
Thorfinsson joined the Lions in Eden Prairie in 1987. He has held many club and district offices leading up to his election to the international board.
For his outstanding service to the association, Thorfinsson has received many awards, the most prestigious being the Ambassador of Good Will Award—the highest honour Lions International can bestow.
He and his wife, Lynda, also are both progressive Melvin Jones Fellows.
In addition to his Lions activities, Thorfinsson has served as honourary board member of A Better Chance Foundation and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
