Lions recruiting volunteers for mass vaccine clinics

With mass vaccination clinics for Covid-19, approval of Pfizer vaccine for children 5 thru 11, and continuing influenza shots, the West Rainy River District Lions Club is once again assisting the North Western Health Unit with volunteers at their clinics in Rainy River. These clinics currently held in the Rainy River High School are scheduled for Friday: 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. & Saturday: 9:30 a.m. To 4:30 p.m., November 26 and 27 and Dec. 10 and 11. Additional clinics are anticipated early in 2022 and dates will be announced as soon as scheduled.

WRRD Lions continue their commitment to “We serve” by providing volunteers to staff the Screening and Clinic Flow operations for the NWHU in rainy River. Last spring Telford Advent is pictured assisting the public at one such clinic in Rainy River.

The type of vaccinations and eligibility, appointments or walk-ins, varies depending on your age, immunization status, and vaccine availability. You can find more information on all these issues by checking the NWHU site at www.nwhu.on.ca or you can book appointments directly online at www.clinicreservation.com. Information continues to change frequently so please check with the NWHU.

The WRRD Lions is trying to supply half-day shifts of two volunteers each – four people per day- for these clinics to provide the Screening and Clinic Flow requirements. If you would like to volunteer for these positions, please contact Jack Elliott at elliottjhn@gmail.com or 807-852-3790 and he will make arrangements for you to enrol with the NWHU.

Here’s a chance to help your community fight this plague.
