Summer is hard upon us, but it’s not too late for you early birds to get a worm. This Saturday evening, July 17th at 7:00 pm the West Rainy River District Lions will be holding their Early Bird Draw on that beautiful Princecraft Pontoon Boat that has been gracing the lots of businesses across the valley these past couple of months. It’s for a fistful of cool cash – 1000 bucks.

Final draw for the boat, plus two additional cash prizes will be held in Rainy River on Saturday September 19, 2021. Tickets are only 20 bucks and only 5000 will be sold. Last year we sold out and this year sales are well ahead of last year. So don’t be disappointed, get your tickets now.

Ontario is loosening their Covid 19 pandemic restrictions on gatherings and dining on the 16th and if you are as desperate as the rest of us for some social interaction jump in the car and head for Rainy River. If your car hasn’t moved out of the drive for the better part of a year here’s your chance. Rainy River isn’t that hard to find… in case you don’t remember…. Just head west on #11.

We’ve got a new chip truck in town- Hungry Harry’s. The canteen in Hannam Park is open. You may even find a wobbly pop at the Legion…. But just one…. Drive safe.

To qualify for the draw your ticket must arrive in Rainy before the draw. We are picking up all sold tickets this week, but you can buy one in Rainy River as well…right up to draw time

You know with these record temperatures, I can’t think of anything much more pleasant right now than an evening cruise on one of our beautiful waterways… in your own pontoon boat. How about you?

See you in Rainy River this Saturday evening.
