It’s not too late to apply.
The deadline for the Tbaytel for Good Community Fund “Good Community” program is tonight at 10:59 p.m. (11:59 p.m. EDT).
The program, announced in March, enables not-for-profit organizations, charities, and community groups in Northern Ontario to create and implement projects that bring more good to neighbourhoods and communities.
The “Good Community” program is a new funding opportunity that will run during two campaigns in 2017, offering eligible organizations in Northern Ontario’s diverse not-for-profit sectors the opportunity to complete projects during 2017-18.
“Our goal is to make the Tbaytel for Good Community Fund as inclusive as possible so one of the great things about the application process is how easy it is to apply for the programs,” said Tbaytel for Good Community Fund co-ordinator Laura Foulds.
“The entire process is completed online at tbaytelforgood.net with a simple application form, and ‘Good Community’ applicants are then asked to upload a short video to demonstrate the need and benefit of their proposed project,” she added.
Projects must fall within the following sectors:
•animal welfare;
•community and wellness;
•recreation and culture;
•environment; and
•innovation and technology
Community groups or committees are eligible to apply by partnering with a registered organization for a project endorsement.
Applications will be short-listed to five semi-finalists by a panel of judges, then the public will vote to decide which two projects will receive $5,000 for each campaign.
Recipients from Rainy River District last year included the Fort Frances Community Garden, Nestor Falls School, Nestor Falls Onigaming Animal Control, and Beaten Path Nordic Trails in Atikokan.
