Legion Ladies News
The legion ladies Auxiliary to Branch 29 met on Sept 9 with 29 in attendance. COVID rules were in place with masks worn and social distancing practiced. President Josie Miller presided over the meeting. Committee reports were given and dealt with as was the mail.
Four bursaries were awarded to FFHS students : Tayah Badiuk, Jill Calder, Jillian Cousineau and Grace Petsnick. Good luck ladies with your studies.
The executive is investigating a closed Facebook group so members can attend meetings from home if need be.
50/50 tickets and tickets on a quilt are still available with the draws being held on Nov 8.
A new date has been set for our Gala, and tickets will be available soon – please stay tuned for more information.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 14 and as before, COVID rules will be in place so there will not be a potluck at this time. Members please try on planning to attend as there is a lot of new information to discuss and resolve.
It was great to see the support we had from the community for the curb side pick-up sales for the turkey pot pies, and the upcoming lasagna sales. Stay tuned for more on events as they become available.
The 50/50 draw was won by Jane Hayes and the attendance draw by Sandy Pruys.
Birthday draws were made and April’s winner was Margie Gibson, May – Tina Roth, June – Cherly Gartley, July -Janet Lambert, Aug. (no one present) and Sept. was Alfreda Easton.
We are gradually getting used to what’s the ‘new normal’, we hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as everything is starting to slowly open up again.
