La Vallee Christmas party set to go

The Township of La Vallee’s annual Christmas party takes place this Sunday (Dec. 9) beginning at 3 p.m., with a potluck supper being served at 5 p.m.
There will be board games and cards played prior to supper (please bring your own), as well as face-painting and more.
A sing-song also is planned, with the highlight of the evening to be a visit from Santa Claus, who is sure to give a bag of candy to all children on hand.
Be sure to make this a part of your Sunday–you won’t be disappointed!

The annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser” event takes place across the district this Saturday (Dec. 8) from 10 a.m.-4 pm.
Cloverleaf Grocery will be the location in Emo.
All food and money donations received in our area will help local families, including the Emo food bank.
Volunteers also are needed. This is an excellent way for high school students to earn their volunteer hours needed to graduate.

Hats off to all organizers and volunteers who helped make “Holly Daze” a fun weekend for all in Emo.
As always, the parade proved to be “the best little parade” in the district while the fireworks display afterwards was phenomenal!
Many thanks to all involved for bringing family, friends, and community together.

Sincere sympathy to Bill and Nell Godin, and all the Godin family, on the passing of Almer Godin.
Your community is thinking of you at this sad time.

Congratulations to Dawn Dickson and Brian McCoy on the arrival of their son, Declan, who was born last Tuesday (Nov. 27).
Proud grandparents are Mike and Bev McCoy and Dianne and Fred Dickson.

The weekly Friday night “Beer and Burger” at the Emo Legion has been cancelled for the month of December.
It will resume in January.

A reminder the Emo Legion $1,000 dance takes place on Saturday, Dec. 22 beginning at 9 p.m., featuring live music by local band The Night Hawks.
Tickets are available now at the Legion clubroom.

Robin’s 2ยข:
For some reason, men feel that no matter what they do, they still get yelled at. This story recently was shared with me:
A man sees his wife is busy in the kitchen and says “Can I help?”
She replies, “Sure, take this bag of potatoes, peel half of them, and put half of them in a pot to boil.”
His wife later looks in the pot to find half of each potato peeled!
Men just can’t win, can they?
