Knox United Church in Emo had a successful turnout for its annual fall tea, bazaar, and bake sale last Friday (Nov. 7) in their newly-decorated church hall.
Serviettes on tables read, “The future is as bright as the promises of God.”
Elsie Skinner and Jill Kellar managed the bake table, Marg Jewell and Joan Hughes looked after crafts, while Marg Ramsdale and Sis McComb welcomed guests and registered them for the door prizes.
Winner of the Christmas wreath, made and donated by Janice Harasymyk, was Mary Gavin. The basket of miscellaneous articles, donated by Lorna and Marilyn, was won by Karen Kuitunen.
The kitchen staff—Marilyn Strachan, Mary Gavin, Debbie Halvorson, Evelyn Hartlin, and Armin Mosbeck—made sure the steady flow of sandwiches and dainties got to the guests.
A framed papier-maché picture of a country home surrounded by flowers of different varieties caught my eye. This artistic work was done by Todd Ducharme and it is beautiful.
