The Kenora OPP has recovered all of the banners and flags stolen from the Whitecap Pavilion on the Kenora Harbourfront.
The investigation so far has revealed there were two separate incidents on the night of Friday, Aug. 17 and into the early-morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 18.
In one incident, a Canadian flag and the L.A. Kings’ Stanley Cup flag were stolen.
In an unrelated incident, the Kenora Thistles’ 1907 Stanley Cup banner was taken.
The 1907 Thistles’ banner and Canadian flag were recovered yesterday while the L.A. Kings’ Stanley Cup flag was recovered earlier in the week.
The Thistles’ banner has been returned to the City of Kenora while the Kings’ flag will be returned to its owner.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of these thefts.
