KBHW holds annual ‘Sharathon’

“Sharathon” is always a wonderful time of refreshing, said Bruce Christopherson, manager of Christian radio station KBHW-FM in International Falls.
It’s more than just a fundraising activity—it’s a time to renew friendships and share together what God has done at KBHW, he added.
“This year, we had a number of new friends join us in the radio and some who have been part of our ‘Sharathon’ for almost 20 years,” noted Christopherson.
He also said it was fun to share some first-hand stories between those of us who were there near the beginning of KBHW’s ministry and those just becoming a part of it.
Time and again, we were treated to God’s faithful provision in tough times and in times of joy, he added.
There were inspiring stories of faith and perseverance of friends who are now with their Lord, remarked Christopherson, as well as anecdotes and testimony from present listeners, staff, and those who serve on the board of directors.
“‘Sharathon’ really is a type of homecoming for us,” he enthused.
KBHW has now had responses from 467 people, giving them a Faith Promise total of $158,014. And they still need to hear from their listeners.
KBHW secretary/administrator Dawn Nyberg said their fiscal year is just about to end and for the first time ever, they end on a very positive note financially.
It looks as though we will close out the year with a fairly clean slate and on target with our budget, she noted.
In related news, Peggy Gustafson once again is a part of KBHW’s programming! You can hear her familiar voice and “Focal Point” every Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Gustafson always piques the listeners’ interest with her thought-provoking topics—one of KBHW’s programs you won’t want to miss.
It also is another busy month of programming at the station. Staff, having been catching up on “Sharathon,” now are getting things ready for the fall season.
One of the big changes is the expansion of Kay Arthur’s program, “Precepts,” to a new 25-minute format. And with the change, the program also takes on a new name—“Precepts for Life”—so be listening weekday mornings at 10:30.
Meanwhile, to all the parents who listen to “Focus on Family,” its theme for September is “Focus on Your Child,” providing helpful insight and resources into raising your children.
This program is heard weekdays at noon and 7 p.m.
