Jumpers prepare for ‘Polar Plunge’

Dave Ogilvie

Only a few days remain until the 2011 “Polar Plunge” in Fort Frances.
The Emo and District Lions Club and the Voyageur Lions will have jumpers who are braving the elements in order to raise funds for local projects.
The Emo & District Lions are firmly behind the construction of a walking/running trail north of town, and have met with the new municipal council to offer their assistance in completing this project.
The Lions not only will help raise funds, but will provide volunteer labour when necessary.
They would like the help of people from across the district in raising funds by sponsoring Kent Ogden and Dennis Ogilvie in the “Polar Plunge” on New Year’s Day.
The public can make a pledge and donate at Cloverleaf in Emo. Or Dennis Ogilvie can be contacted by calling 482-2540.
Pledge sheets also are available to anyone else who would like to take the “plunge!”
