Members of the Rainy River District OPP Crime Unit, along with the Community Street Crime Unit, commenced an investigation into an assault with a weapon allegation.
As part of the investigation, a search warrant was conducted at a local Fort Frances hotel room.
Officers located a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, and a quantity of cash.
Officers also found a number of weapons in the room.
A 33-year-old Fort Frances man has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He also faces two charges related to possession of a Schedule I substance.
He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing yesterday.
