Yesterday at 11:30 a.m., Rainy River District OPP officers responded to the report of an intoxicated driver and passenger leaving an establishment on the 1200 block of King’s Highway and proceeding east.
At 11:45 a.m., officers located the suspect vehicle on the 600 block of Second Street East and stopped it.
The driver, a 46-year-old woman from Lethbridge, Alta., was arrested and taken to the Fort Frances detachment for intoxilyzer tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory seven days.
The driver subsequently was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
She is scheduled to make her first court appearance here Feb. 23.
