Calvary Baptist Church in Emo is pleased to present “The Wiebes Live in Concert” on Tuesday, July 31 at 7 p.m.
Shane and Angela Wiebe have been singing together since the day they met 12 years ago.
They soon began performing as a couple, started dating in June of 2002, and were married in December, 2003.
The following May, Shane Wiebe continued his musical journey, earning a top-five spot on CTV’s hit television show, “Canadian Idol,” and having the privilege of working with stars such as Lionel Richie and Gordon Lightfoot.
For the Wiebes, Christian music is a full-time commitment. Their musical ministry is their sole source of earning their living, but also something they love to do.
To quote the couple: “Quite simply, we do what we do because we love music, we love each other, and we love God!”

The Wiebes’ summer tour 2012, their third-annual cross-Canada summer tour, features stops in Emo, Winnipeg, Winkler, Regina, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Airdrie, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Vancouver, and many more churches in small towns across the country.

The Rainy River District Women’s Institute will be holding a “pie social” at the Pioneer Museum in Emo this Friday (July 20) from noon-3 p.m.
Coffee and a piece of pie will be just $4. Whole pies also will be for sale.
Proceeds from this event will go towards maintaining the museum.
Everyone is invited to come out for some delicious pie, for an afternoon of socializing with friends, and to support the work of the district W.I.

A reminder that Emily Hyatt is planning an open house at the Fine Line Art Gallery in Fort Frances on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 4-8 p.m., featuring work done by present and former students.
She is interested in contacting former students who would be interested in displaying one of their finished pieces.
