The Borderland Humane Society recently held a meeting at the Coffee Landing in International and asked that anyone interested in volunteering with the Humane Society attend.
There was a great turnout.
The goal of this meeting was to hopefully sign on some volunteers and revive the Borderland branch of the Humane Society, which has been seeing a decrease in community support and awareness.
Not only did they sign on some great volunteers, but also elected a new temporary board of directors to deal with the issues at hand.
Among this board of directors is Robert Congrave of International Falls, who will be the new contact person of the Borderland Humane Society. The contact previously was Sherry Wold.
Anyone needing to contact the Humane Society is asked to call Congrave at 1-218-286-3322. He can direct your call and put you in touch with the appropriate person.
The board of directors will meet again tomorrow (Feb. 18) at 9 a.m. at the Coffee Landing. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to do so.
The Borderland Humane Society currently is in need of foster homes to house animals until permanent homes can be found. Contact Congrave if you are interested in becoming a foster home.
