Hospital auxiliary looking for pennies

Dave Ogilvie

The Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary is in the process of collecting pennies.
They have just over $3,000 left to pay off the CR reader/X-ray upgrade, and also will be pledging to the upcoming digital mammography campaign.
If anyone would like to help hard-working auxiliary members by donating their pennies to this worthy cause, bring them to the Emo Health Centre cafeteria and place them in the jar or contact a member.
Also watch for posters for the auxiliary’s next event, which will be its annual “Strawberry Social” on Friday, June 8 in the hospital cafeteria.

Cornell Farms announces that Kim Churchill will be performing there on Tuesday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m.
“Kim Churchill is one of Australia’s best-kept secrets. His style is explosive with intricate finger-picking, percussive beats on the body of the guitar, and two-hand tapping intertwined with an earthy stomp box, powerful harmonic melodies, and soulful voice.”
Churchill has played at the Live for the Rock Folk Festival in Red Rock and also toured with Harry Manx. Check him out on YouTube and be sure to mark June 12 on your calendar.
Tickets cost $15 in advance (available at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre, Greensides Store and Cornell Farms in Devlin, and the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market in Fort Frances each Saturday) and $18 at the door.
If you have not attended a concert at the Cornells’ barn, you definitely should plan on attending the first concert of the summer.
