On Monday, the La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary hosted a Christmas luncheon for all the auxiliaries under the Riverside umbrella.
Members from the La Verendrye, Emo, and Rainycrest auxiliaries were present, as well as Bill Gushulak and Deane Cunningham from the Riverside Foundation for Health Care.
Judy Webster, president of La Verendrye Auxiliary, opened with a welcome to all present.
Grace was said by June Caul, president of Rainycrest Auxiliary.
After the meal, Webster gave a brief update on the La Verendrye Auxiliary events and then welcomed Gushulak to the podium.
He expressed the Foundation’s appreciation for all that the auxiliaries do for our respective facilities, and took the opportunity to wish us all a very Merry Christmas and even more success in our future fundraising endeavours.
Diane Maxey then led us in the singing of Christmas carols.
Santa arrived with a flourish of bells and spread joy to all, giving each member a gift of candy, as well as complimenting some on their good behavior this year.
Gushulak then did the draw for the 50/50, which was won by Helen Cousineau, who took home more than $2,500.
There also were draws for the centerpieces donated by Lowey’s Greenhouse and Market Garden, with one lucky auxiliary member from each table going home with a beautiful poinsettia.
The door prize was won by Susan Neurinski.
