Hospital auxiliary holds bake sale

With the weatherman co-operating, the annual hospital auxiliary tea and bake sale at the cafeteria turned out to be another successful effort.
Co-chairs Dorothy Haines and Heather Oltsher, and their auxiliary members, found the atmosphere most promising.
The crew, which included Marj Jewell, Marg Leveridge, Jackie Hunsperger, and Bernice Campbell, among others, took turns serving and working in the kitchen.
There were plenty of sandwiches and dainties for the guests, and the bake table was loaded with cookies and other goodies. Customers certainly had a real treat to pick and purchase.
I had spotted Elaine Frazer, retired reeve Maurice MacMillan, Claire Corrigan, Elder Jack, Betty Herman from Fort Frances, Aimee Orme, who is now residing here, and the Kivells, who did not take their usual winter trip south this year (Denis says it is getting too expensive).
Others on hand included Marilyn Romyn, Edith Bodnar, and Gladys McLean and friend from Stratton.
Looking after the guest book was Mary Gavin. “The turnout was really good,” she noted. “I do not actually know the numbers, it is hard when people come and go to keep track.”
The door prize winner (picture frame) was Marg Hayes while the napkin holder, donated by Raoul Cayer, was won by Evelyn Kinsman. The children’s draw was won by Cassandra Kuitunen.
