Police are asking for tips in connection with an accident that damaged a utility pole on the southwest corner of Second Street East and Portage Avenue last week.
An investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer driver had backed into the pole during the early-morning hours of last Friday (Aug. 28), causing significant damage.
The vehicle responsible for the damage left the scene without reporting the incident to police.
Upon arrival at the scene, police immediately notified several law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for a vehicle with suspicious damage.
Canada and U.S. Border Services, the International Falls Police Department, and Rainy River District OPP officers were updated, but had no luck locating the vehicle.
