Highway 11 between Longlac and Hearst has re-opened, the OPP reported this morning.
It had been closed for several hours following a collision involving two tractor-trailers that occurred yesterday around 6:40 p.m. about 40 km east of Longlac.
One of the vehicles was hauling a load that contained a dangerous good, which rolled over as a result of the collision, the OPP said.
The immediate area was evacuated as a precaution, including two occupants of a nearby residence, which resulted in the closure of Highway 11 between Longlac and Hearst for several hours while a hazardous material crew attended and assessed the scene.
The load remained contained, however, and there was no spill, the OPP noted.
It was determined there was no risk to public safety and Highway 11 was re-opened around 4 a.m., it added.
One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries, the OPP said.
The collision remains under investigation by the Greenstone OPP.
